Meeting on Bicycle and Pedestrian Access at Loudoun Metro Stations

On December 8, 2010, BikeLoudoun met with Tom Farley, the Loudoun County transportation representative who is coordinating plans for pedestrian and bicycle access to the planned Metro Stations in the county. Also attending was Scott Peterson, Assistant Project Manager, Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). We were able to study drawings of the stations Mr. Farley provided, and suggest appropriate areas for bicycle parking and rider access to the stations. During the meeting, Mr. Peterson mentioned that he commutes to 8-10 miles each way to work by bicycle, every day, year-round. It was a reassuring that such a dedicated cyclist is on Metro staff.
