Welcome to the BikeLoudoun Blog
Welcome to the BikeLoudoun blog. Each week we'll touch on three topics: 1) A headline from the news that relates to biking; 2) Goings on in Loudoun County with regard to bike/ped, planning and the like; and, 3) A paragraph or two from the Bike and Pedestrian Plan starting from the Executive Summary.
For now ... check out the encouraging Washington Post article, For More Riders, 'the Bus Is Beautiful'
Commuters Leaving Cars at Home To Save the Cost of Parking at Metro, By Amy Gardner, Washington Post Staff Writer, Thursday, May 21, 2009
This is good news indeed. But at the recent Bike-To-Work Day we spoke with some bicyclists who had mixed experiences with regard to bike facilities on buses and metro. Please let us know what your experience has been – what works and what could be better.
We look forward to reading your comments.
PS: Check out this story by By Michael Laris, Washington Post Staff Writer, (Loudoun Extra) Sunday, May 31, 2009: Bringing Md. And Va. Closer: Wilson Bridge Bike and Pedestrian Path to Open Saturday. Pretty amazing.
